CALL FOR PAPERS: Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal [NMJ]

The Northwest University, Kano hereby introduces the maiden edition of its first journal to the Academic Community, Research Institutes and Academic Institutions in Nigeria and around the world, as well as the general public.
Tagged Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal [NMJ], the journal is intended to be a channel of disseminating knowledge, discussing ideas and communicating information across national and international barriers.

Mission

Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal [NMJ] will provide outstanding research and promote Academic Excellence in various fields of learning and scholarship.

Vision

Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal [NMJ] aspires to become one of the world-class Academic Journals that provide forum for discussing issues, sharing ideas and disseminating knowledge.

Frequency

Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal [NMJ] is a bi-annual journal to be published in January and July each year.

Scope

Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal [NMJ] cuts across all disciplines and branches of learning. It will publish original works in the Pure Sciences, Technology, Medical Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, Education, Humanities and Entrepreneurship.

Structure/Paper Format

Papers and Articles intended for publication in NMJ should be submitted in English, Arabic or Hausa. Articles should include title, author’s name, address and key-words where applicable. They should have introduction, empirical studies, methodology, research results, recommendations (if any), conclusions and references. If the paper has more than one author, the first on the list will be the correspondence author.

Submission of Manuscript

1. Manuscripts should be submitted in duplicate, accompanied with a soft copy, to the Editor-in-Chief and Chairman, Research and Publications Committee, Northwest University, Kano. Papers must be typed in English, Arabic or Hausa, Times New Roman, 12 font size, double spacing, 1” margin at both sides of A4 paper.

2. Manuscripts should not exceed 12 to 15 pages, including references, appendices, etc.

3. Manuscripts should be legibly written with clear symbols, illustrations, drawings and photographs where needed, to ensure clarity and ease of reproduction. Authors are advised to pay special attention to tables, where applicable, figures and graphs.

4. References can be in either APA format or MLA format and should be appropriately cited in the main text.

References

References to the publication can be either in APA format or MLA format, cited at the end of the paper, and should contain full bibliographical details, e.g.:

a) Musa N. T and Balarabe A. (2015) Bio-Chemical Health Hazards in Kano Metropolis. Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal 2(15), 14 - 23.
b) Barau I and Tanko U. S (2007) The Role of ICT in Effective Teaching of Arabic Language in Secondary Schools in Nigeria. Northwest Multi-Disciplinary Journal 3(25), 16 – 27.

Review Process

All manuscripts for publication will be peer reviewed by three reviewers to ensure accuracy, relevance and originality. Based on reviewers’ recommendations, articles may be returned to author(s) for corrections before final acceptance.

Copyright

Upon acceptance of paper/article by the Journal, the author(s) have automatically transferred copyright of the paper to NMJ.

Charges

Manuscripts are to be submitted along with a processing fee of ₦10,000 to be paid as honorarium to reviewers. Upon acceptance of the paper for publication, the author(s) will pay another ₦10,000 as publication fee.
